World Malaria Day – 25 April 2019

Malaria remains a major case of mortality and morbidity particularly in children in developing countries. Despite huge amounts of research on the mosquito vector, plasmodium parasite, chemotherapy and vaccines – malaria still remains a highly significant problem. The emergence of resistance to chemotherapy and availability of effective drugs and supportive therapy remain problems. However, novel attempts at vector control and the potential of vaccines are rapidly progressing and provide potential advances for future control
