FEAM President Stefan Constantinescu participated in one session of CEPS Ideas Lab 2024, a two-day event designed to serve as a high-level intellectual forum for discussing a broad spectrum of current and pressing issues facing the EU.
The session, titled “Will the EU respond better to the next health crisis?“, brought together Prof. Constantinescu and notable figures such as Sandra Gallina (Director-General at DG SANTE, European Commission), Vicky Lefevre (Head of Unit Disease Programmes, European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control), Valerie Nkamgang Bemo (Deputy Director Emergency Response, Global Development, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation), Anders Nordström (Former Ambassador for Global Health, Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs), and Lieven De Raedt (Head of Service International Relations, FPS Health).
Hien Vu Normand, Associate Researcher at CEPS, facilitated the discussion where they explored the importance of recognizing early signs of future health crises, strategies for rapid risk assessment, and how Europe can invest in building a robust and resilient health system with a focus on global health.
