In a statement published on 3 March (Wednesday), the European Stakeholder Group called for formal adoption of the draft adequacy decision on the UK data protection regime.
Following the draft adequacy decision on the UK data protection regime issued by the European Commission on 19 February 2021, the European Stakeholder Group urge the European Data Protection Board and the European Parliament to support the ruling and National Governments to approve the draft decision.
The approval of the UK data protection regime will “safeguard the significant benefits of the free flow of personal data and protect both patients and our common health interests”, the statement reads.
