MOOC: “One Health: Pandemic preparedness, prevention, and response” on Coursera

The online training course, “One Health: Role in pandemic preparedness, prevention and response“, is now available in Coursera. Through seven modules, the course will provide basic knowledge and contextualisation of One Health in creeping crises, such as the COVID-19 pandemic.

This course was developed by the Federation of the European Academies of Medicine (FEAM) and the Karolinska Institutet (KI) as part of the research project ‘Pan-European Response to the Impacts of the COVID-19 and future Pandemics and Epidemics’ (PERISCOPE).

FEAM and KI have invited experts from their respective networks and beyond to participate as distinguished lecturers, including Professor Serge Morand (Health ecologist and biologist at the French National Centre for Scientific Research and CIRAD in Thailand, and member of the One Health High Level Expert Panel), Professor Janice Zanella (Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation, Swine and Poultry), and Dr. Faye Ioannou (DVM, MRCVS, Deputy Head of Unit F.2, Health & Food Safety Directorate General, European Commission).

Divided in seven modules, the training reflects on the current understanding of the concept and the role of cross-sectoral and multidisciplinary collaboration in One Health to address global challenges.

Attending the course, participants will identify enablers, limitations, barriers, and next steps on the One Health concept and its operationalisation.
